Having a greater inclination towards STEM subjects, I felt forced to study economics in JC. However, after joining Mr Kenn in J1, I started to truly understand the science behind economics. Mr Kenn teaches in a clear and concise way that enabled me to learn the concepts rather than blindly memorise paragraphs. With small class sizes and personalised learning, Mr Kenn was able to give his full attention to students – answering my late night questions, marking my last minute essays. With Mr Kenn’s guidance, I was able to build a strong foundation in Economics, eventually obtaining an A in the GCE A-Level examinations. Thank you Mr Kenn 🙂

I joined mr kenn with a grade 3 economics. The very day i joined, he looked at me and told me not to worry and that i would get a 7 for my IB. That’s exactly what happened. His lessons are something that i look forward to as it more than just writing essays and memorising concepts. During his lessons, i went from hating economics to it being my best performing subject. He is always ahead of school with his lessons plans, and manages to answer all of our queries without delay. I would recommend Mr kenn without hesitation, as with him I was able to embrace and enjoy Economics.

Given the small class size, Mr. Chng can effectively utilize teaching methods that most definitely aided in my understanding of economics. Very unique to his lessons, he trains us on writing, whether it be essays or case studies. He handpicks past year questions that are very similar to that of the A-levels and consistently drilled us to write efficiently using the right concepts. Furthermore, although I only joined his tuition class after the middle of my JC2 year, I managed to pick up the pace for economics, mostly due to his efficient marking, as well as swift response time. As my prelims neared, I would submit about an average of 4 to 5 pieces of work (essays and case studies) to Mr. Chng, and he would make sure that it was all marked and reviewed the next time he saw me. Furthermore, whenever I had doubts while doing my work, I would just send a quick text to Mr. Chng, to which I often received an immediate reply, even when it was late at night. Mr. Chng has truly helped not only me, but many of my peers score a distinction for economics in the A-levels. Thank you, Mr. Chng!

During my time under Kenn, I was able to improve my IB Economics grade from 3 to 7. Kenn’s classes are detailed and easy to follow, focusing on tackling past year questions while ensuring a good grasp of the concepts involved. The classroom environment is conducive in that everyone is encouraged to think and ask questions to clarify any doubts. Kenn is also dedicated to helping students improve by making himself available online to provide feedback and answer questions beyond the lesson hours. I enrolled in Mr Kenn’s Economics class at the start of J2, after scoring an S in promos the previous year. Mr Kenn was an excellent tutor, who could explain economic concepts extremely well. I was on the verge of dropping to H1 Economics before enrolling in his classes, but his lessons enabled me to have the courage to continue taking H2 Economics. Lesson plans were very flexible and catered to our needs. There were around 5 students per lesson thus Mr Kenn’s attention was not overly divided. He was a meticulous and patient tutor who would make time for clarification of questions. His notes and model essays were extremely comprehensive and extensive. I eventually attained an A for H2 Economics at A levels. Thank you Mr Kenn for making econs a little more bearable and enjoyable to study!
